Class 58: Very Real Helps for Very Real Thriving

Hi Writer!

Child, warrior, conduit, houseplant… how do you visualize your writer self?

Regardless of how you picture your writer self in your imagination, the fact remains that you are a real human person trying to get your work done in the real world.

So what things, in the real world, are contributing to the growth and success of your writing practice, and what are some of your very real barriers?

It’s Wednesday, which is the day we focus on nurturing your writer self.

As always, there is a 20-minute block of time carved out at the end of the video for you and your words. Every day that you practice for just 20 minutes you are building your writing life. You’re doing it, one day at a time.

See you in class.

xoxo Danica

PS…

I’m a writer too, and these reminders and exercises help me just as much as they do you. We’re in the same boat! I did today’s exercise and here is my current bullet-point list. Feel free to share yours with me!

My Helps

+ this amazing office
+ lots of alone time
+ healthy body basics (water, sunshine, little walks in the day)

My Barriers

— limited hours available for my own work
— no other-imposed deadlines (accountability)
— laptop death immanent
